Newlywed Ranveer Singh's 'Simmba' Trailer Reminds Us Of Chulbul Pandey In A South Indian Avatar
The much-awaited trailer of Ranveer Singh's Simmba is finally out and we seem to be having mixed emotions about the movie. Being a Rohit Shetty film it definitely has all the masala to be called a dhamakedaar movie but there are multiple things that struck our mind while watching the trailer which left us totally confused.
Watch the trailer here:
The movie has got some crazy action-packed scenes with massive stunts and cars blowing all over the place but something seems to be hatke this time. You will almost feel like its the story of Chulbul Pandey but with a South Indian touch. The trailer begins with Ajay Devgan's voice-over narrating about a kid, Sangaram Bhalerao who happens to be Ranveer Singh, and his journey of aspiring to be a cop once he grows up.
Meanwhile, we start to get a feeling that we have already seen something similar like this but in a different plot altogether. Yes, guys, we are talking about Salman's one of the biggest hits, Dabbang. Now, you must be wondering what makes us say that again and again? Ranveer in a scene drops a dialogue saying "Main police vala bana paisa kamane ko, Robin Hood banke dusre ka madad karne ke lie nahi" and that immediately gave us a flashback of the corrupt inspector Salman, who happens to be kind-hearted otherwise.
While Ajay Devgan has a cameo role in the trailer, we are still wondering what was going on in the director's mind that landed him from Singham to Simmba straight away! We also get to see the usual Ranveer dancing on the streets, knocking people out, running after goons and with a dialogue delivery like that of a typical south guy! That also brought us the thought of the role of Rajnikanth in Hum where he played the police officer. Similar no?
On the other hand, Sonu Sood in a negative role reminds us of 'Chedi Singh' and we are again forced to drop in a conclusion that his basic role in the movie happens to be getting beaten up at the end. *Sorry but not sorry*
Meanwhile, Sara Ali Khan would be making her second grand appearance with Rohit Shetty's, Simmba. We see Sara's role getting limited to the romantic sphere and she is hardly seen in the trailer. We are also wondering if Rohit Shetty is ever going to serve us with a full feeding female protagonist in any of his upcoming film's.
Like a typical Bollywood story, there is something that happens, which apparently changes the mood and plot of the entire story. The evil Simmba transforms into a good man and we are NOT AT ALL SHOCKED! A girl who Simmba treats as his sister is raped and murdered.
Rohit Shetty had said that Simmba happens to be his best movie up till now and all we can see is Ranveer's exceptional performance standing out in all of this. And of course, his love for 'bhai', Rohit Shetty is majorly visible to all the followers. Ranveer posted a picture with Rohit, that expresses his experience of working on the sets and the bond the two have formed during this period.
