Zoya is on cloud nine these days as apart from Gully Boy, her web series Lust Stories was nominated for the 2019 International Emmy. The director told ANI, “I am thrilled and very grateful that Gully Boy has been picked as India’s official entry for the Oscars. This has been a great year and I am so overwhelmed with the response our work is getting. It’s crazy to receive such news days after Lust Stories received a nomination for the Emmys."
Gully Boy narrated the story of an aspiring rapper, Murad and his struggles towards achieving his dream. The film was inspired by the lives of rappers Divine and Naezy. With the film, Zoya painted a beautiful picture of dreams, reality and struggle. Apart from Alia and Ranveer, the film also featured Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Varma and Kalki Koechlin in crucial roles.
