Dream Girl Movie Review: Ayushmann Delivers Another *Hatke* Film, Proves He Is In The Industry To Rule
Ayushmann Khurrana is the man whose talent knows no boundaries. After playing a serious role in Article 15, he has once again come to give us a dose of laughter with his latest release, Dream Girl. The trailer of the movie left cinema lovers in splits and now it has finally released. It won't be wrong to say that this is another 'hatke' film that is going to shine in Ayushmann's eclectic resume. Are you planning to watch it? Read on.
The story revolves around Karamveer Singh (Ayushmann) who has the unique ability to impersonate female voices. He plays the role of Sita and Radha in plays. As his father had multiple loans, he takes up a job in a call centre where ladies make sweet-talk with lonely men. This is how he becomes Pooja. He starts talking to people and soon they fall in love with Pooja and also want to marry her. At one point, Karamveer gets so annoyed that he even compares his plight to Draupadi.

The strength of Dream Girl lies in its script. Raaj Shaandilyaa and Nirmaan D Singh have done an amazing job. They have written funny dialogues and witty one-liners. One thing is for sure, the film tests your limits of how hard can you laugh.
Coming to performances, Ayushmann is as usual perfect. He is the poster boy of all taboo subjects. It seems like unconventional scripts make its way to the actor. Every time we think that it was his best performance, he comes with something better. He is so convincing as Pooja that we have to pinch to believe that a man is talking not a lady. The actor has already won a National Award and with the kind of filmography he has, many more trophies will surely be coming his way.

Nushrat Bharucha is good as Maahi. She has finally come out of the title of Punchnama girl and it is good to see her doing something different. The supporting cast is a stellar line-up. Annu Kapoor once again comes out as a legendary performer. His bond with Ayushmann will remind you of Vicky Donor. Vijay Raaz as a middle-aged drunk cop gives you many funny moments. Such is the calibre of this actor that he can make you laugh with a plan simple line.
Raaj Shaandilyaa manages to hold the attention keeping things simple. He lets script and dialogues do all the talking. The film does have a predictable climax and a little stretched second half but this is a very small thing to avoid such a wonderful film.
All said and done, go and watch Dream Girl with your gang. The film is a dose of laughter to break free from your busy lives.
