Shy people would know the struggle: The selfies with your friends turn out fire, but the minute a stranger steps up to help you take a picture, you get all awkward and start stiffening up. Suddenly, your ANTM-worthy poses are out of the window and you end up resembling a block of wood in every shot. Mega cringe.

This won’t be a problem at STUDIO03 ROOM, a new Korean-style self-taking photo studio in Singapore. You’ll be getting professional-looking studio shots, taken using a DSLR and proper equipment - just without a photographer. All it takes is a click of a remote button controlled by you and your friends, and the best part is that you’ll get unlimited RAW photos returned along with one edited shot!

Read on to find out more about STUDIO03 ROOM self photo studio in Singapore!

If the name STUDIO03 ROOM rings a bell, that’s ‘cause it’s affiliated to STUDIO03 - the photo studio that does glam Korean-style IC, passport, and LinkedIn profile pictures, which we previously wrote about. Both are located within the same unit.

The entire set-up will already be put in place for you; This comprises a wooden bench set against a simple but eye-pleasing greige curtain as a backdrop. There’s also an artificial potted tree to add some colour into your shots, but this can be set aside if you’re after minimalist vibes.

All you need to do is show up looking your best and start clicking away using a handheld remote!

Tip: Use strategic poses to successfully hide the remote control for more professional-looking snaps. Some examples:

  • Put the hand holding the remote behind your back, or on a friend’s back
  • Clasp your hands together
  • Hold hands with your partner, with the remote hidden in between
  • Model pose: One arm behind your head

There are two types of filters to choose from: Neutral and Black & White.

While the studio is manned by photographer Tiffany, she’ll step aside during your 15-minute session so there’s no need to feel self-conscious about any wacky shenanigans with your besties, or lovey-dovey kissing shots with your partner.

In fact, you could even use this opportunity for a unique pre-wedding shoot. Turn up in casual clothes or a full gown and suit - it’s entirely up to you in this judgement-free zone! Fun family photos or graduation shots with your schoolmates are a good idea too.

At the end of your session, you will get to review your photographs on a computer, and select one for full editing by Tiffany herself. You can request for any sort of edits you want, including airbrushing of skin and slimming effects! This, and all the other RAW images will be returned to you in digital format.
