There’s A Cat-Themed Exhibition In Town With 30 Installations By Famous Japanese Artist Mofusand
Other than art jamming with cats and the new cat cafe at The Rail Mall, crazy cat people in Singapore now have another feline-related activity to look forward to. Titled Paw-verbs on the Lawn, there’s a new cat-themed exhibition at Kampong Gelam featuring a series of meow-tastic installations by Japanese artist, Mofusand (@mofu_sand).
This exhibition will be happening out on the lawn of the Malay Heritage Centre from now till 30th May 2021, and entry is free-of-charge.

Other than its adorable cat installations, Paw-verbs on the Lawn focuses on figures of speech in the Malay language that refer to felines. Some examples are: “Malu-malu kucing” (like a shy cat), and “serta lalu kucing, tikus tidak berdecit” (when the cat is around, the mouse will not squeak).

These phrases and their explanations are printed out onto signboards scattered across the grass lawn outside the Malay Heritage Centre, along with 30 cat illustration standees by Juno from Mofusand.

Through these Malay proverbs, you’ll get a glimpse of the many moods and facets of cats - agile, elusive, feisty, and so much more. You’d know if you’re a cat owner ;)

This exhibition is open to anyone, and you don’t have to be able to read or understand the Malay language as English descriptions are included.
