Located a short walk from Chinatown MRT Station, Madame Ooze was formerly the ground floor of a luxury backpacker's hostel, Adler Hostel.

It's since been converted into a dessert bar and cafe which explains its cosy, boutique hotel-like interior design. The Waiting Hall is a free seating space filled with furniture and decor pieces sourced from around the world. You can enjoy your drinks and desserts here while imagining you're in a bohemian chic hotel somewhere in Bali.

Gather around at the flamingo pink dining area that's perfect for a bigger group, or grab a seat at one of the cosy corners with comfy lounge chairs and pillows.

You can mix and match items to create your own dessert: a vessel (cone, cup, croissant or fudge brownie), ice cream, shavings and sauce.

A unique dessert they offer is the Crocream (from $8.70), an ice cream and croissant combo. It's best enjoyed with their in- house signature sauces like Mandarin Orange Dark Chocolate Fudge and Salted Butterscotch.

Some of their best-selling ice cream flavours to try are New York Blueberry Cheesecake, Belgium Dark Chocolate Vancouver, Toasted Marshmallows and Sicilian Pistachio (single: $4.20, double: $8).

On their beverage menu are coffees ($3 -$7.80) like lattes and cappuccinos and teas ($6.50 - $7.50) like Salted Plum Lychee, Oolong Strawberry Rose Sen Cha and Old Ginger Milk Tea.

They also have three mocktails ($13- $15): Mr. Black, a double Espresso with mandarin orange, ginger syrup and tonic water, Momo San which has peach, lavender syrup and tonic water and Datuk Manis with lychee, salted plum syrup and tonic water.

You can convert any iced drink into a float with ice cream.
