Talents and beauty aside, one other baffling and admirable trait of celebrities is that they never seem to age.

Besides personal trainers and dieticians to keep them in their best shape, they also have some other secrets most of us non-famous folks are not privy to that help them retain their youthful looks.

Keep reading to find out more

#1 Botox & fillers

It's an open secret in Hollywood that many celebrities undergo invasive facial procedures to look younger, namely fillers and botox. For fillers, hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin to plump up the skin, while botox causes a muscle-relaxing effect to reduce wrinkles. But when overdoing it, an unnatural bloated face or frozen look ensues.

#2 Chemical peels

This is an intense exfoliation method where acids dissolve the top layer of the skin to reveal fresh, youthful skin. The downside of chemical peels is that they usually cause redness and peeling which may take weeks to subside. While celebrities' flexible schedules allow them to avoid going out, this long downtime is less desirable for those of us who still have to leave the house to work, run errands etc.

#3 Professional makeup artists

It goes without saying that makeup can make a huge difference in how we look. Then again, makeup is an art form and we don't have the same skill level as the pros. Celebrities have access to the best professional makeup artists who can erase years off their faces and make it look natural. Notice what celebs look like on the red carpet after getting dolled up by top makeup artists and compare it with paparazzi photos, there's a huge difference in how old they look.

#4 Lifting facials

One of the best kept celebrity skincare secret is lifting facials which revives the complexion, making it smoother, brighter and more toned. Take local actress Paige Chua for instance. She's in her late 30s yet could pass off as a twenty-something year old. Her beauty secret is Power Lift Facials by Victoria Facelift.

While the other three celebrity anti-ageing routines are out of reach for most of us, these Power Lift Facials are actually accessible for us to indulge in. The results are similar to that of injections and surgeries, yet it's a quick, non-invasive facial with no downtime or risk of that unnatural plastic surgery look. We followed Freda, who is in her 30s, while she tried out the Power Lift Facial to see if it could help improve her skin which is starting to show signs of ageing. Check out her experience and review below!

Consultation & skin analysis

Everyone is unique and so skincare shouldn't be a one-size-fits-all deal. That's why consultants at Victoria Facelift will customise a treatment programme based on your skin type, age and condition to ensure the best results. Prior to the facial, Freda had a skin consultation where she shared her skin problems of skin dullness & dryness, sagging skin and pronounced nasolabial folds (laugh lines beside the mouth).

She then went though a detailed computerised skin scan which revealed that her skin lacked collagen, leading to signs of ageing.

Step 1: Double Cleanse

With soothing music playing the background, the beautician started with a brief scalp massage, lulling Freda into a relaxed mood and relaxing her facial muscles. Then came the double cleanse using the Victoria Facelift Gentle Cleanser which contains natural moisturising factors in fine molecules to penetrate into the skin easily and lock in moisture.

Step 2: Hydro Mask

Next was the Hydro Mask to remove dead cells and moisturise the skin, coupled with gentle cold steam for three minutes. This exfoliating mask and cooling effect helps to reduce pigmentation, soothe the skin and soften whiteheads.

Throughout the facial, the beautician also applied the skincare products on the neck and décolletage and massaged it into the skin.

Step 3: Gentle extraction

The beautician advised against over extracting or excessive exfoliation as it could damage the skin. That's why the Hydro Mask was applied prior to the extraction as it made the whiteheads emerge easily for a gentle and painless process. She also tidied up Freda's eyebrows at the same time for a neater, groomed look.

Step 4: Hydra Mask

To replenish the skin barrier after exfoliation, the intensely hydrating HydraMax Mask was applied for 15 minutes. The pretty robin egg blue colour of the mask is from green tea, an antioxidant that has powerful anti-ageing benefits like boosting the skin's radiance and smoothness.

You'll notice a focus on moisture in all the facial steps as the skin needs to be thoroughly moisturised for the lifting effect to take place.

As Freda's skin was extremely dehydrated, the beautician added an extra step: serum. She also advised that skincare should still be accompanied with lifestyle habits like drinking enough water and having enough sleep in order to maintain heathy skin. The customised touches and genuine tips offered made the experience stand out to Freda who tries different facials regularly.

Step 5: Detox Lift Massage

Before starting the Power-Lift Machine Treatment, the beautician gave Freda a lifting detox massage in the direction of the lymph nodes and facial muscles to remove blockage and even out her skin tone.

Step 6: Power-Lift Machine Treatment

Then came the pièce de résistance of the Power Lift Facial: Power-Lift Machine Treatment. It contains key ingredients such as Oligopeptide-1 (Epidermal Growth Factor)Hibiscus Abelmoschus seed extract and hydrolysed collagen. These powerful antioxidants aid the growth and repair of the epidermis as well as stimulate the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid.

A Power-Lift machine was used to help these ingredients penetrate into deeper layers of the skin. Freda reported a comforting warm sensation. This warmth helps the collagen better absorb into the skin and activates cells to build up skin elasticity, enhancing the lifting effect.

The beautician only applied the treatment on one side of her face so she could see the immediate difference it makes. As you can see from the image below, her cheek on the left side of the photo is visibly lifted, slimmer and more taut than the right.

Finally, the beautician applied facial mist to firm the skin and Hydro Moisturiser to add an extra dose of hydration. She also applied a layer of sunblock so Freda could head out right after the appointment.

The results

Freda was very pleased that there was a noticeable difference in her skin after just one Power-Lift Facial session. She had a much brighter complexion and a more even skin tone. Her under eye circles and nasolabial folds also looked less prominent. Softened and smoothened skin and a more defined, v-shape jawline were the other visible improvements.

Her before and after facial scans revealed that her collagen levels were replenished after the facial. See those little triangle-shaped lines on the right "After" scan image? They are an indication of collagen, which means that the skin is strengthened and closer to its youthful state.

In addition to these transformations that Freda experienced, the Victoria Facelift Power-Lift Facial can also reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and a double chin, and tighten loose, sagging skin - all similar effects to expensive and invasive treatments that celebrities use to maintain their youth.

This facial is ideal for ladies in their 40s, 50s or older, as well as their husbands and boyfriends, to achieve younger-looking skin. It's also suitable for those in their 20s and 30s who want a more v-shaped face and replenish collagen in their skin.

The entire facial took just 90 minutes which makes it a convenient skin pick-me-up between appointments or after work.

If you're keen to try out the Power-Lift Facial or recommend it to your loved ones like your mum or aunt, there's good news! Victoria Facelift is having a CNY Exclusive Deal where you can get a Victoria Facelift Power-Lift Facial + 3pc V-Lift Product Set for just $48 (total worth: $486).
