Acne is one of the most common skin woes and it doesn't help that we live in a humid climate that will exacerbate sebum production, causing clogged pores which results in pimples.

It's also a long and tough journey when it comes to battling acne. But, even though having clear skin is not an overnight thing, using an acne patch is known to heal acne, absorb gunk and protect them from germs at the same time.

So, we invited five GirlStyle Singapore readers to test out the Nexcare Tea Tree Acne Patch and here are their reviews after trying out the patches.

Read on to see what they have to say!

The new Nexcare Tea Tree Acne Patch now comes improved with added tea tree and lavender essential oil. These two potent ingredients have skin benefits - tea tree oil has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties while lavender oil kills bacteria and heals wounds.

The acne patch's advanced hydrocolloid technology absorbs acne discharge effectively and aids in healing and reducing scarring. The patches are also waterproof and breathable.

The five product reviewers are all dealing with acne and here are their thoughts:

"I pasted the acne patches on stubborn pimples that had been on my skin for as long as I could remember and the next day, the redness reduced significantly and the bumps flattened too! Although the acne patches were sticky enough to stay on my face all night long, they were not too difficult to remove the next day. I think the redness was reduced significantly thanks to the tea tree oil ingredient."

"I liked how fuss-free the acne patches were as all I had to do was to stick them on and let them work their magic. Having the acne patches on prevented me from touching my irritated pimples. The patches also managed to stick on my skin throughout the entire night while absorbing acne discharge. I realised the next day that my pimples had flattened. These are great for situations or occasions where you need to quickly make any pimples look less inflamed. As these patches come infused with tea tree oil, I felt that they are much more effective compared to other normal acne patches as they helped to calm my pimples and reduce redness."

"Unfortunately, these acne patches didn't stick well on my skin. The patches were also slightly thick and yellowish in colour, and were quite obvious when I had them on my skin. However, the acne patches did help with reducing some redness probably due to the healing benefits of both the tea tree and lavender essential oil."

Cherie, 30

"The acne patches were easy to use and had good adhesion as compared to acne patches from other brands I used previously. I liked that the patches came with a tweezer, which made it easier for me to pick them up without contaminating them with my fingers. The patches are also reasonably sized, big enough to cover an entire pimple. The only thing I didn't like about the acne patches was that they are quite obvious on the skin, so I couldn't apply any makeup over them or wear them out."

Clara, 31

"I have been dealing with PMS breakouts and have tried various acne patches, but they were either too dry for my sensitive skin or didn't work at all. However, to my surprise, the Nexcare Tea Tree Acne Patch worked well on my skin! The patches flattened my acne bumps overnight, reduced skin redness and didn't dry out my skin. The only con about the patches is that they are quite thick and don't really blend into the skin, so I would only stick them on when I'm at home."

To summarise, most of our reviewers liked that the tea tree and lavender oil in the acne patches helped to flatten bumps and reduce redness. But some of them also felt that the patches are slightly obvious on the skin, so they would prefer to only stick them on at home.

You can get the Nexcare Tea Tree Acne Patch at $9.90 on Shopee or Lazada for a box of 34 patches in two different sizes.
