If You Love Hot, Spicy Wings, Check Out Taufik Batisah's Nashville-Style CHIX HOT CHICKEN!
Besides singing and rocking the stage, it seems like our first-ever Singapore Idol winner Taufik Batisah also have a soft side for food. Well, who doesn't, right?
Though he's probably one of the most successful singers in Singapore, it doesn't mean that music is all he's sticking to. In June, Taufik Batisah opened Chix Hot Chicken, a Nashville-style fried chicken joint located in Jalan Pisang, a walk away from Bugis MRT and Haji Lane (aka hippie town).
According to Vulcan Post, Taufik set up the store with his best friend Ismail Rawi Bober and each of them pumped in a substantial amount to start up the hot wings place~
Taufik has always wanted to own his own establishment but he only got the inspiration to set up the Nashville-style restaurant after returning from a family holiday to his stepfather's hometown in Louisiana in 2013.
“I was fascinated by the southern hospitality and the food I experienced while I was there, especially their fried chicken.”
Louisiana is known for their spicy (like legit) food but Taufik couldcl take it because he grew up here in Singapore, a country where most people practice a 'I'm not eating it without chilli' mentality.
He fell in love at first bite and decided that Singaporeans DESERVE this yummy Nashville-style hot chicken too and decided to bring it over. So... Thanks, Taufik.
Similar to some hot wings stop, Chix Hot Chicken allows us to choose the spicy level for our chickens: mild, extra and insane hotness~

When asked about the brand’s quality and customer service, Taufik shared:
Every visit to Chix Hot Chicken should be a memorable and fun experience. With this, we hope that people will keep coming back and share it [their experience] with their family and friends.
We want Chix Hot Chicken to not just be about food, but also part of a lifestyle. We plan to introduce merchandise, events at our shop, and other fun ideas to continually grow our brand with our customers.
