Has severe RBF but is fairly jolly and carefree on the inside. Degree of life satisfaction is heavily influenced by food.

Crying is a human and natural response to intense negative emotions like sadness, stress and frustration. There's no shame at all in shedding tears and it's actually a healthy thing that you should do to reduce stress!

After having a good cry, hopefully you'll feel much better, but your face might be slower to catch up. ?

If you don't want to look like you've just been crying, keep reading to find out how you can quickly freshen up and look like nothing happened!

#1 Let it out without holding back

This might be difficult to remember while you're in the middle of an ugly-cry, but try to let your sobs out as loudly as you want to and don't hold your breath. Some of us try to be more discreet by stifling our cries which isn't a good idea as the pressure that builds up around your face makes it red long after you've finished crying.

#2 Wash your face with cold water

You've seen this in movies and it does help! Cold water helps to soothe any redness and de-puff your eyes.

You can also apply a cold compress around your eye area and hold it for a few minutes.

#3 Eye drops

One or two drops of redness-reducing eye drops in each eye should wash away any redness.

#4 Stay hydrated

If you have a headache after crying, it's likely because you're dehydrated. Drink lots of water or some chamomile tea which is a natural headache remedy.

#5 Apply moisturiser

Your skin will likely be dehydrated too! Apply a layer of moisturiser especially on areas where you tend to get flaky skin like around the nose and mouth.

#6 Use a hydrating concealer or foundation

Cover up any redness with a concealer or foundation with a hydrating formula and dewy finish.

#7 Dark blue eyeliner

Navy will make the whites of your eyes look whiter, so pop on some navy eyeliner to brighten your eyes and make yourself look fresh-faced.
