#1 Soak your tired feet

Soaking your feet in warm water is the best feeling ever! Start off your at-home-pedicure session by soaking your feet in a tub of warm water with epsom salt plus a few drops of essential oil for 15-20 minutes.

This step will soften the callouses and dead skin on your feet, prepping them for removal. The warm water will also soothe your tired feet.

#2 Remove dead skin

Remove dead skin on your feet using a foot scraper. Feel for the rough spots using your hands and file away. Make sure you pay extra attention during this step as you can accidentally hurt yourself if distracted.

#3 Clean & shape your toenails

If your toenails are long, cut them using a nail clipper and file them into your desired shape. Remember not to cut your toenails too short as they can result in ingrown nails and cause pain.

Referring to the image above, your toenails should not curve in but form a straight line.

File your nails in a single direction and be gentle so that you don't weaken them.

#4 Scrub your feet

You can easily make your own foot scrub at home! Simply mix lemon and honey with sugar to create a moisturising exfoliator.

After achieving your desired toenail length and shape, scrub your feet clean with the DIY foot scrub and rinse off. The skin on your feet should feel smoother and softer after that.

#5 Paint your nails

Here comes the fun part - choosing nail polish colours and painting your toenails! Creating designs on our nails is not an easy feat but if you want pretty-looking toenails without having to put in too much effort, try out these 16 minimalist mix and match colour combinations.

Instead of just one consistent colour on all your toenails, these mix and match colours will brighten up your mood whenever you stare down at your toenails!

#6 Moisturise your feet

If your hands require moisturising, your feet will need it too! We often neglect our feet but make sure you apply a foot cream after all that scrubbing to restore moisture into your skin.

Here's a pro-tip: put on comfortable furry socks after applying the foot cream and let the cream work its magic overnight! You will definitely wake up to soft, smooth and beautiful feet.
