To be fair, this movie franchise may be more on the infamous side than famous. Some common things that audiences dislike are the ridiculous plot, questionable acting and the films' romanticising of what is likely a toxic and abusive relationship between the two main characters.
#2 Harry Potter

We're as surprised as you are! Apparently, there are quite a good number of people who didn't enjoy the Harry Potter movies that so many of us love.
A lot of the criticisms for the first two films are of the child actors' subpar acting abilities. Another problem some people have with the movies is one-dimensional nature of the central characters. There is the chosen one, the nerdy girl, the silly comic relief, the mean bully, the wise old mentor etc. The criticisms highlight that any attempt at developing these characters past their stereotyped roles feels sloppy.
#3 Black Panther

People were hesitant to say anything negative about this beloved film for fear of causing offence, but the criticisms came nonetheless. One common complaint is that aside from the casting, the film is basically the same as a lot of the other Marvel films. The performance of Michael B. Jordan as N'Jadaka was also criticised, especially when compared to the rest of the cast who had great acting chops.
#4 The Little Mermaid

Even this classic film has its share of critics! While people admired Ariel's passionate and adventurous spirit, they also criticised her decision to sell her voice to a sea witch in order to meet a guy.
Some critics also didn't like how the film seemed to suggest that men are attracted to women who speak less. As Ursula says to Ariel to persuade her to give up her voice: "they dote and swoon and fawn on a lady who's withdrawn, it's she who holds her tongue who get's a man." And it did work! Ariel never spoke a word to Eric and he did end up falling in love with her.

Visually, this film is universally praised, it's the plot that draws the ire of some critics!
Common opinions of the storyline are that it's too predictable and basically Pocahontas with CGI effects, and the commentary on social issues feels shallow. The characters are also criticised for being dull and stereotyped.
#6 The Matrix

This highly raved film that spawned a whole world of video games, merchandise and two sequels has drawn a very similar criticism from those who didn't enjoy it, and that is the inability to sit through the whole film without falling asleep! ?
Some of the criticism was also aimed at the dated music and costumes which made it difficult to take the film seriously.
#7 The Greatest Showman

Although adoration for this film is aplenty, there has been negative responses too. Some audiences criticised the plot as preachy and meandering plot and didn't like how how the main character exploited people who were different and yet was glorified by the script which focused heavily on his redeeming qualities.
Theatre buffs also didn't like how the music seemed more suited for a pop radio station than a musical.
#8 Bird Box

Hyped to the heavens on social media, this Netflix original film garnered high hopes. While many people loved it, some felt that it was a letdown. Some reasons for the disappointment is the multiple plot holes and the failure to reveal what the monsters looked like or explain what they did.
Another gripe people had is how the main character managed to row a boat through a rapid river while blindfolded, when real-life blindfolded people couldn't even walk through their own house without hurting themselves in the silly 'Bird Box Challenge'.
#9 Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Photo from Walt Disney Studios
Most of the criticism of this film is that it paled in comparison to the 1991 animated film, which is deemed close to perfection by many.
Everything from the singing, acting and Belle's dress was deemed underwhelming when compared to the original film. Some people also voiced their dislike of the extra storylines added which seemed unnecessary.
#10 Frozen

Audiences loved many things about this film like portrayal of Anna and Elsa's genuine sisterly bond and the focus on Elsa's journey of self acceptance rather than the typical find-your-true-love Disney princess trope.
However, the overplayed 'Let It Go' song slowly ate away at some people and turned their fondness of this film into frustration.
