Nicholas Tse Just Created A Whole New Menu For McDonald's In Hong Kong
Yes, he did. He even gained a little weight from experimenting with the food.
Some of you may know Nicholas Tse as the legend who's always on the big screen or grand stage performing his top hits. Those who've been keeping up with Sing! China (中国好声音)would also know that he's become one of the four judges. But how many actually know that he's actually slowly transitioned into a chef?
In fact, he just launched his first ever menu for Mcdonald's Hong Kong!
According to Mingpao, it took Nicholas Tse a few months to develop his own signature food for McDonald's Hong Kong.
The new line-up named My Taste of Hong Kong includes foods like Bolognese & Fried Egg Angus Burger, Fried Onion Crispy Pork Cutlet Burger, Hong Kong-style Siu Mei-flavoured and Typhoon Shelter Crab-flavoured Shake Shake Fries

It is noted that this menu was inspired by Nic's childhood memories of his beloved hometown~
Here, you can see how excited he was to reveal the menu to the world.
He even did a live demo with the ingredients of the recipes he came up with after months of trials and errors~

"It has made me a bit fat, because I had to constantly try it myself," he said.
However, Nic stressed that the ingredients and sauces he chose for the menu are of good quality and thus should not be seen as junk food.
In an interview with the publication, Nicholas expressed that the ingredients used are of good quality and should not be seen as junk food so non-fast food lovers should also give it a try.
Fans of the star and the fast food chain can expect to try the new menu in McDonald's Hong Kong and Macau very soon!
How Chef Nic came about
In an interview with SCMP, Nicholas shared that he first started cooking after watching a TV show about pastries and how making a soufflé or a cream puff were actually the most challenging kitchen tasks to master.
"I rushed down to the supermarket and I was thinking how hard could it be. So I made my first cream puff and it turned out inedible, which is ridiculous. Why? It's just flour, water, butter and maybe some milk. But yeah, it was disastrous."
The determination to master that art then spiralled from then. Besides music, food was another 'international language' that could speak volumes for people and their culture and he wanted to learn that language.
As he went on, he also revealed that another reason he enjoys cooking is because it brings him closer to his family.
"I used to be this really locked-up kid, I didn't talk much, I was on really bad terms with my family – until I started cooking. I found a new medium to converse with (my) mom. And now every time I cook they come to my house, we'd sit at the table and... that is just the best platform to open up – (I'd be like) hey dad, (do) you want to try this? Before, I just didn't have that bridge."
Despite his lack of formal culinary training, Tse believes he can make anything.
"With this internet era, make use of it. I think everything is learnable these days, whether it be cooking, mechanics, engineering or computer science."
"When I first debuted as a singer, all I received were jeers and it was that way for four years. Whenever I go up on stage that's all I hear.. so much that I can barely make out what I was singing myself but I worked hard stage after stage, concerts after concerts until I got my first applause. This is why I treasure each and every fan of mine.
"It's the same now that I've entered the culinary realm. I may get jeers and criticism but this is what I want to do and I'm going to give it my all. If I could get through that four years, I could get through now."
Nicholas is currently a judge on Sing! China and he hosts his own food-travel variety show Chef Nic and Celebrity Chef: East VS West.
