This Korean Restaurant With Cave-Inspired Interiors Has Juicy Pork Ribs, KBBQ, Giant Chilli & More
While the Easties and Westies are battling it out for the title of 'Best Side', Northies can now enjoy not one, but two splendid cave-themed restaurants in the 'hood! Besides Rainforest Wild Asia's Cavern Restaurant in Mandai Wildlife Reserve, we now have GOCHU, a Korean restaurant serving up everything from juicy pork ribs to deep-fried giant chilli peppers.

Located inside Orchid Country Club, this unique diner has gorgeous, cave-like stone walls, deep wood interiors and floor-to-ceiling windows. The view from here is nothing short of amazing, with one side facing some lush greenery and the other offering a fantastic view of the country club's driving range.

On the menu are fresh takes on Korean cuisine staples, like the Potato Pancake With Parmesan Cheese ($14) served with a delicious truffle mayo sauce, and the Black Soy Cold Noodle ($22), an unusually soy-heavy spin on Naengmyeon.

The stars of the show are their BBQ pork ribs, which are masterfully marinated and grilled over charcoal to perfection. We particularly love the melt-in-your-mouth texture of the Sweet & Savoury Grilled Pork Ribs ($62)! Those who enjoy a spicy kick can opt for the Spicy Grilled Pork Ribs ($62), though you might want to have a cool drink on standby because these are pretty hot.

Not in the mood for BBQ? You can still try their mouthwatering pork ribs in the Pork Rib Kimchi Jjim ($28), a hearty and generous serving of Korean kimchi stew with all the fixings, as well as the Galbitang Bansang ($30), a tender beef rib broth that's simmered for 24 hours.

Those who are feeling adventurous, don't miss out on the Big Crispy Chilli With Special Spicy Sauce ($14)! This magnificent creation looks like a chilli pepper that swallowed an 'EAT ME' cookie from Alice in Wonderland and grew out of control. In reality, this large deep-fried chilli is only mildly spicy, stuffed with minced pork and served with creamy and satisfying tzatziki dip.

Wash it all down with some highballs in creative varieties — the Bokbunja Highball has a lightly sweet berry flavour, while the Ginseng Highball is more of an acquired taste with its very strong, aromatic ginseng essence.
