Oink Oink! Asia's First Peppa Pig Outdoor Theme Park Will Open In Shanghai By 2027
In case you haven't heard, Peppa Pig is coming to Asia in a super pig and exciting way! The world's largest Peppa Pig outdoor theme park will open in Shanghai in 2027, complete with countless rides, immersive shows, and even a themed hotel. Spanning a whopping 48-acres, this entertainment complex is the newest addition to the collection of theme parks in the area — which includes the Shanghai Disney Resort and upcoming Legoland Shanghai Resort (opening in mid-2025).

Located on China’s third largest island, Changxing Island in Chongming, the Peppa Pig theme park will be just a 1.5 hour drive from Shanghai's city center.

With quite a few years to go before its grand opening, there isn't much information available on the Shanghai park. But if we're going off the existing Peppa Pig theme parks in Europe and the US, it's likely that visitors can expect an explosion of bright colours, whimsical attractions and decor, adorable character meet-and-greets, adorable restaurants where guests can literally pig out, and plenty of family-friendly fun.

That's not to say there won't be any Peppa Pig-infused offerings for adrenaline junkies and thrill seekers! Factoring in the gigantic size of the Shanghai park and its outdoor location, the complex is likely to include at least one tall ferris wheel and themed roller coaster (possibly like the Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster in Günzburg, Germany's Peppa Pig Park).

Until then, visitors to Shanghai can get their dose of the popular pink character at Peppa Pig World of Play, an indoor play attraction at 3F LCM Plaza, 2389 Zhangyang Rd, 洋泾港 Pudong, China, 201203 designed for the young and young at heart. It's no giant outdoor theme park, but your little ones will still get their chance to watch live shows, play in themed zones and meet the beloved oinking pigs of their dreams. One-day passes start from 158 RMB (~S$29) for one child and one accompanying adult.
