New Pink Cafe In The East Has Pretty Floral Decor, Giant Teddy Bears, $28/Pax High Tea & All-Day Brunch
The colour pink is having its big moment right now, with everything from makeup packaging to supercars and even HDB flats taking on various shades of the feminine colour. Cafes in Singapore have also been jumping on that lucrative pink dollar, and the latest opening that is GIG Cafe is sure to have even proud West-siders travelling all the way to the East.

You’d think we’ve seen it all, with pink cafes like Cafe Q Classified and La Fez already in existence, but GIG Cafe still wows with their pastel pink theme. With marble top tables and terrazzo flooring, they’re clearly right on top of decor trends, and of course, the florals are another irresistible draw.

Draping from the ceiling is a canopy of pink realistic-looking paper leaves that adds a romantic touch to the place. Certain areas on the walls have been further spruced up with decals of pink blooms and leaves, while large bear plushies are stationed throughout the space for a cosy look. Feel free to grab them for some selfies, or plant one next to you for company if you’re dining alone!

If you’re making a reservation for a larger group of people, you might get the chance to sit near the feature wall at the back of the cafe, which is dotted with giant paper flowers that look like they’re straight out of Alice in Wonderland.

For such an elaborately-decorated establishment, it’s a little surprising that GIG Cafe’s menu mainly features simple, homemade-looking dishes, but don’t knock it till you’ve tried it! In any case, their fare is reasonably-priced, with Carbonara Pasta and Aglio Olio starting from just $8.90.

They also serve all-day brunch from 10am to 6pm, with dishes such as Croque Monsieur ($12.90), Baked Eggs aka Shakshouka ($17.90), and the GIG Big Breakfast ($19.90) - basically the full works with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, sauteed mushrooms, salad, and sourdough. Mains include heartier dishes like Pan Fried Salmon ($17.90) and Pan Fried Wagyu Beef Striploin ($25.90).

One thing this pretty floral setting is especially suited for is their All Day High Tea Set, priced at an affordable $56 for 2 ($28 per person).
