When we hear the word “buffet”, the first question in our minds is usually, “how much?”. Naturally, these all-you-can-eat feasts don’t come cheap, with some higher-end hotel restaurants even charging in the 3-digit range. As for the cheaper options? They’re usually only within a budget-friendly price range during weekday lunches, which is when most of us are busy being corporate slaves.

But that’s not the case at Orange & Teal, where diners can pile their plates high with an affordable $26.80 dinner buffet after clocking out from their 9 to 5. On top of that, children under 5 eat for free, while children under 10 get 50% off!

Orange & Teal was opened by Dr Chee Soon Juan of the Singapore Democratic Party, together with his wife, as a longstanding dream of theirs. They first set up shop at Rochester Mall, and have since expanded to a second location at Marina Square, where their new $26.80 dinner buffet is being offered. Regardless of your political stance, you can't deny that is a value-for-money deal.

Fresh from the kitchen is a spread of Western comfort food including pasta, pizza, grilled meats, fried fish, and sliders.

There’s also a handful of Asian dishes including fried rice and spring rolls. Desserts include profiteroles and eclairs, and you can wash everything down with free-flow orange juice.

Though the spread at Orange & Teal’s dinner buffet may not be as extensive as those found at buffet specialty restaurants, it’s still reasonable for the price you’re paying, and there are enough options to go around such that you’ll get a satisfying, filling meal.

While I haven’t actually tried the buffet myself, I’ve heard quite a handful of people - from fellow millennials to my bargain-hunting parents - rave about how worth it it is. There were no complaints quality-wise either.
