i Light Singapore 2023 Will Be Happening Soon With New Free-To-Visit Neon Light Art Installations
June is the hottest time of the year, which means your outdoor escapades to places like nature attractions and open-air photo spots in the daytime might be coming to a halt. After all, no one wants to sweat buckets under the sun in temperatures past 35°C, which automatically makes potating at home with Netflix the more attractive option.
But come night when it’s cooler out, you’ll want to pry your eyes from the screen to put on your best OOTD-worthy clothes - no, not for clubbing, but for i Light Singapore 2023, which will be happening throughout the month to dazzle you with their glowing light art installations once again.
P.S.: You’ll also want to check out Sensory Odyssey, a new 360° multi-sensory indoor exhibition at ArtScience Museum.

Previously only held across the Marina Bay area, the annual i Light Singapore festival will now be expanding to include new zones of South Beach and Millenia Walk for a fresh experience for visitors. While last year’s edition was focused on the colour violet, i Light Singapore 2023 will be going by the theme of “A New Wave”, centred on the colour blue which represents calmness.

Fittingly, a couple of the installations at i Light Singapore 2023 will be related to the element of water, including one that depicts majestic glaciers, and another featuring colourful corals and seaweed that get “bleached” white upon detection of movement - a reference to the damage that the marine ecosystem is currently experiencing.

Other highlights include a giant prismatic structure with dynamic colour-shifting properties, as well as a plot of supersized trumpet flowers that stand beautifully illuminated and emit music with the touch of interactive keys.

As with previous years, i Light Singapore 2023’s seven neon light installations are free-to-visit. However, there’s also an optional paid portion called Lightwave: Turning the Tide, where you’ll be diving deep into the waters of the ocean to experience an inspiring multi-sensory three-part display. Tickets for this section of the exhibition cost just $5 per person.
