Van Gogh-Themed Afternoon Tea In Singapore Has Artistic Treats Inspired By The Famous Sunflowers Paintings
Talk about a treat for both the eyes and the tastebuds - blending food and art is a new limited-time Van Gogh-themed afternoon tea experience, the first of its kind in Singapore. This follows news of an immersive Van Gogh pop-up with 360-degree projections, and while the two events are not affiliated, this is yet another chance for art enthusiasts to engage in art in a casual, laid-back setting.

Titled Season of Impressionists, these themed afternoon tea sessions are by Fairmont Singapore’s Anti:dote, dreamt up together with ARTiSTORY and the National Gallery of London.
Served in a three-tier jewellery box is a selection of 12 sweet and savoury delectables inspired by Van Gogh’s famous Sunflowers paintings, along with fresh Sunflower Seed and Raisin Scones served with Lemon Curd, Strawberry Marmalade, and Clotted Cream.

All these items have been crafted according to theme - not just appearance-wise but also in terms of ingredients used. A handful of them involve sunflower seeds, while others include botanical ingredients such as blue pea poppers, blackcurrant pate, and yuzu marshmallows.
Of note is the oat milk chocolate dessert shaped like a potted sunflower, as well as a cookie that’s essentially a miniature version of the Dutch painter’s Sunflower artwork. It even comes presented on a tiny easel - how cute!

Each person will get their choice of TWG tea served in a pot, but if you can also amp it up with the Colourful Yellow ($22) rum-based cocktail with toasted sunflower seeds, Elderflower Liqueuer, and tropical fruits. If day-drinking is not for you, opt for Bulb Fields ($17), a chamomile tea-infused mocktail with roasted sunflower seeds, lemon juice, elderflower cordial, and yellow tropical fruits.
As the final touch, the interiors of Anti:dote have been decorated with sunflower motifs.
