Has severe RBF but is fairly jolly and carefree on the inside. Degree of life satisfaction is heavily influenced by food.

Instagram and Tiktok envy is real, and I felt it strongly while seeing people frolicking inside Vincent Van Gogh paintings. That dreamy landscape is inside Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience, an exhibition that toured Europe and the Americas.

And finally, that envy is about to be overcome as the exhibition is making its way to Southeast Asia for the first time and landing in Singapore this March.

Held at Resorts World Sentosa, Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is a 360-degree exhibition that combines traditional art with technology. Think ArtScience Museum's Future World exhibition, but with over 300 artworks by the renowned artist Vincent Van Gogh.

The Immersive Room

In this room, Van Gogh's artworks are brought to life in the most epic fashion. The walls and floor are completely covered in animated projections. Coupled with sound effects, visitors are made to feel like they've stepped into artworks like  The Starry Night (1889) and Almond Blossoms (1888 and 1890).

"A Day in the Life of the Artist" VR Experience

Through VR headsets, visitors will "walk" though a vivid virtual world and find out about the inspiration behind eight of Van Gogh's iconic works including Bedroom in Arles (1888).

Unlike a traditional museum, Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience presents information in a unique and engaging style with technology and engrossing storytelling.

There will be plenty of Insta-worthy spots including a recreation of Van Gogh's bedroom and a corridor filled with sunflowers - an ode to the artist's series of sunflower paintings.

This Singapore edition will introduce two special Japanese culture-grounded showcase segments curated as a tribute to the Japonisme movement that influenced Van Gogh's artwork style. Visitors will explore the impact of the ancient art of Japanese woodblocking on the western art scene, and experience an authentic matcha tea ceremony symbolic of the 'Wabi-Sabi' principles.

Display Your Paintings

The exhibition also has an interactive segment where visitors can contribute their own art to the wall of digital paintings. After colouring in a template of a painting, pop it into the scanner and your work will appear in one of the frames.
