Their cartoons have been a huge part of our childhoods, and still remain close to our hearts. And even now as adults, many of us find ourselves squealing with excitement over anything related to their familiar favourites like Winnie-the-Pooh and Mickey & Friends. This year, entertainment giant Disney finally turns 100 after years of magic, and as part of their global Disney100 celebrations, Jewel Changi is getting a whole Disney-themed shebang.

We’re talking light and music shows, fun photo spots, meet and greets, and a pop-up store that’ll send any Disney fan into a frenzy. There will also be free-entry to the Canopy Park for a limited period of time - but only for those who show up according to the special dress code! Here’s the scoop.

Disney100 Light & Music Showcase at Jewel Changi

Disney is taking over the Rain Vortex at Jewel Changi where the usual light and sound show will be given a unique Disney100 spin, featuring characters from a range of classic Disney movies coming to life as projections on the indoor waterfall and its surroundings. Accompanying this spectacle are Disney tunes like When You Wish Upon A Star and A Whole New World, among others. Feel free to sing along! This will be happening from 13 to 15 January 2023 only.

You’d want to make a point to catch the 7.30pm show in particular, as there will be a special performance with character appearances to take the fun up a notch.

Speaking of character mascots, catch the meet and greet sessions happening across the same dates this weekend at the Forest Valley at 1pm, 2pm, 4pm, and 5pm. No purchases are required and it’s completely free, but make sure you snag a meet and greet pass in order to be eligible! Passes will be distributed 15 minutes before each session, and each pass can accommodate up to 5 persons in a group.

Disney100 photo spots at Jewel Changi

Get ready to pose, pose, and pose for at least 10 Disney100 photos spots have sprung up around Jewel Changi. Channel your inner Disney Princess with Snow White and her woodland animal friends, be transported to the colourful Valle de Cocora in Encanto, and frolic up in the clouds with the lovable characters from Up - you’re the star of your own Disney fantasy with these life-sized backdrops!

It’s not just Disney movies that are part of the line-up - look out for scenes from Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars movies too!

Some of these photo zones come with a local twist, so you can expect Singaporean elements weaved into the set-ups. For example, the Vanda Miss Joaquim flower can be seen as part of Encanto’s landscape, while River Wonders’ red pandas make an appearance with Turning Red.

Aside from that, there’s a giant platinum statue of Mickey Mouse, standing proud at 4 metres tall.

These photo spots are scattered across the Forest Valley and Canopy Park, and will be up until 9 April 2023.

Disney pop-up store at Jewel Changi

If you’re looking to fill your home with Disney items, or simply hunting for gifts for your friends, pop by the Disney-themed Year of the Rabbit Tsum Tsum pop-up store - one of the largest of its kind in Singapore. This pop-up is clad in a pretty pastel pink with sakura motifs in line with the season of Spring, along with Tsum Tsum illustrations further livening up the space. There’s a lion dance wall mural specially for Chinese New Year too!

Fill your shopping basket with cute Disney-licensed goods including plushies, fashion items, stationery, homeware and more. These include exclusive CNY-edition products as well!

Based on the photos, it appears that there will be Sweet Land arcade machines too, so you might even have a chance to win yourself some prizes.

The Year of the Rabbit Tsum Tsum Pop-Up Store will be running till 26 February 2023 at Level B1 (unit 219/220).

Dress up for free entry to the Canopy Park

It’s not often that one gets to enter the lush Canopy Park of Jewel Changi for free, so don’t miss this chance from 13 to 15 January 2023! But here’s the catch - you’ll have to come dressed in an outfit inspired by your favourite Disney character, and simply donning a Disney-print tee or mask will not make the cut. Instead, you’ll have to get creativie and really go all out with the theme to an obvious degree. If you’ve always wanted to try cosplaying, now’s the perfect opportunity!

Those who come in regular outfits will be required to purchase an entry ticket.
