#1: Altro Zafferano - Italian restaurant with views of fireworks from 43 storeys high
Photo from Altro Zafferano
Italian cuisine is a popular option for a romantic date night out, and you can’t go wrong with Altro Zafferano - version 2.0 of the previous Zafferano Italian Restaurant & Lounge. This rebranding involves a menu overhaul that honours the chef’s own heritage and family recipes, along with a stylish makeover to match.

The main dining area now has blush-toned seats, textural seat dividers, and chic feature lights. Looking for something a little more intimate? Book a pirate dining room that comes with its own private entrance.

For more laid-back vibes, lounge about at the outdoor bar terrace which overlooks landmarks such as Marina Bay Sands and The Esplanade. Inspired by seaside patios in Italy, this space is airy during the day but takes on a more sensual tone at night, making it the perfect spot for sharing drinks with your significant other. Its location on the 43rd floor of the CBD area also means that it’s a prime spot for watching fireworks go off during special occasions.

#2: Eden Restaurant - tranquil glasshouse in town
Photo from Pullman Singapore Orchard
Housed within the new Pullman Singapore Orchard hotel, Eden Restaurant certainly lives up to its paradisiacal moniker. Designed to look like a glasshouse, with even a skylight for the sun's rays to filter in naturally, the verdant space has its walls and ceilings draped with greenery - creating a garden-like atmosphere in the middle of the concrete jungle.

The menu here is largely Asian-inspired, with dishes such as Satay Lamb Rack, Lime Ribeye Steak, Tuna Ceviche with Ikura, and Thai Papaya Salad.

Craving a tipple? Head on over to the Atelier Lounge for wine and bespoke cocktails, or take it outdoors with P.S.O. Beach Club - the first and only beach club at Orchard Road. It’s a full-fledged one too, with a lap pool, cheeky floaties, and a row of cabanas to lounge under.

The only thing missing? Warm sand in between your toes. But perhaps that’s more of a boon than a bane, especially if you’re gonna slip right back into your heels and head home via public transport after.

Photo from Cinder Steakhouse
Previously known as The Verandah, the second floor of Wheeler’s Estate at Seletar Aerospace Park has been given a refresh and has been reborn as Cinder Steakhouse. The charming colonial architecture that gives this place its character remains, but diners can look forward to an all-new menu revolving around dinner date classics, namely, steak and wine.

Their Valentine’s Day 2023 menu features a 5-course set dinner at $208 per person, including a flavourful amuse bouche of Pan-Seared Tuna with Stracciatella and Salted Kale. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Pure Wagyu Striploin is part of the mains selection, but if meatiness isn’t your thing, you can also opt for the Baccala, which is Silver Cod Fish with Lemon Beurre Blanc Sauce.
Each main comes with a respective wine pairing, while your dessert of French Earl Grey Raspberry Gateau or Praline Hazelnut Gateau will be served with Moscato from Italy.

#4: Ce Soir - elegant floral restaurant in Singapore’s “countryside”
Photo from Ce Soir
Floral cafes in Singapore are aplenty, but floral-themed restaurants of a certain level of luxury are rare. Ce Soir thus immediately stands out from the rest, and it’s not the standard girlish decor that’s washed in 50 shades of pink either. Set in a refurbished colonial house in Singapore’s “countryside”, this place is filled with flowers in muted shades, giving it an whimsical yet sophisticated air that doesn't feel incongruent with its European fine-dining concept.
Photo from Ce Soir
It’s not just the interiors that are pretty, for the food is beautifully plated as well. In fact, many of the dishes come garnished with edible flowers for that extra touch of elegance.

Their multi-course meals are surprisingly reasonably priced, with 2 of their lunch menus set at below $100.

#5: Meadesmoore - steakhouse with luxe teal interiors
Photo from Meadesmoore
A restaurant’s ambience can highly influence the mood of your date, and Meadesmoore is one that will automatically get you in the mood for quiet heart-to-heart talks with your loved one. Dark, but by no means brooding, this Chinatown shophouse unit’s teal interiors exude an intimate luxuriousness. We’d say the best place to sit here are the velvety bay seats by the window.

Get your tastebuds whisked to France with their 5-course “Midnight in Paris” Valentine’s Day 2023 menu, priced at $148 per person. Get in the mood with complimentary Aperitifs, before nibbling your way through Uni Toast, Scallop Aguachile, and Scarlet Prawn with risotto. Mains are a choice between Wagyu Coulotte and Smoked Pork Jowl,

Couples who can’t make it on the actual day of Valentine’s can consider a slightly cheaper version of this set meal on the 10th or 11th at $128, which excludes the aperitifs and one of the appetisers.

Tucked away on the 12th floor of Orchard Central, 181 Mansion isn’t just a restaurant - it’s a 3-in-1 relaxation haven with a dining space, sky bar, and even its own in-house spa with rose petal jacuzzi baths, so you can get a full pampering experience all in one place.

There’s nothing quite like the colour pink to get one in the mood for love, and French-Japanese restaurant-bar Paris2Tokyo definitely ticks the boxes for the ladies who are head-over-heels with the colour. Although furnished in light colours including pale pink, their hot pink lighting that comes on at sundown gives the place a seductive glow, and on top of their sakura decor hanging above, every table also comes with a wine glass filled with fluttery pastel flowers.

#9: Sol & Luna - high-rise Latin-European garden oasis
Photo from Sol & Luna
The unveiling of new skyscraper CapitaSpring was delightful news for many Singaporeans, even if their companies had no intention of moving to one of its many swanky office spaces. Because within this sleek towering building in town is also a Sky Garden on the 51st story, along with exciting new eateries spanning across the 17th to 20th floors.
Photo from Sol & Luna
One of these is Sol & Luna, a Latin-European restaurant nestled within a sky high garden oasis. Its name translates to “sun and moon” from Latin, an apt representation of how they have specially-curated menus for all times of the day - brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner.
Photo from Sol & Luna
Their Valentine’s Day 2023 set is a 4-course Spanish meal at $120 per person, and it’s great for those who love being presented with the option to choose. The first course is your pick of either Spanish Grilled Octopus and Freshly Shucked Oysters, while the mains will have you selecting between Basque Txuleta Steak Astigarraga, Sea Bass a la Plancha, and the vegetarian Spanish Stuffed Aubergine. #10: White Marble - located at Orchard with airy al fresco seating
Photo from White Marble
Venture away from the usual haunts at Orchard and head to White Marble, located towards the quieter Tanglin side of our shopping street. This Mediterranean grill restaurant has simply-furnished monochromatic interiors for a more easy-going atmosphere - which is great if you’re on a first date, or in a very new relationship.
Photo from White Marble
But if you don’t mind dining sans air-con, we’d recommend booking a table at the al fresco zone instead. Plenty of ceiling fans are overhead so you won’t be left sweating buckets, and rows of potted trees separate the area into sections so things won’t feel overly buzzin’ even if it’s a full house.
Photo from White Marble
This Valentine’s, White Marble is dishing out a 6-course sharing menu priced at $298 per couple ($149 per person), inclusive of welcome cocktails. Kick things off with Caviar “Prestige Baerii” & Trout Roe with labneh and dill, and Crab & Avocado Tartare. For mains, you’ll be enjoying a platter of Grilled Wagyu Petite Tender Mb6 with Tzatziki, Gratinated Oysters, and Steamed Atlantic Salmon with Scallop Mousse and Green Zhoug, a spicy Middle Eastern sauce.
