Has severe RBF but is fairly jolly and carefree on the inside. Degree of life satisfaction is heavily influenced by food.

ArtScience Museum's permanent exhibition, Future World: Where Art Meets Science has reopened to reveal three interactive installations in a new gallery titled Exploring New Frontiers.

Autonomous Abstraction, Continuous Phenomena from the Universe to the Self

This abstract installation explores the 'spontaneous order' phenomenon where what seems like chaos in the natural world is actually purposeful order. For example, fireflies often self-organise to flicker in unison to create a brighter glow.

Similar to fireflies, the lights at this installation flicker and change in colour. With a wave of the hand, visitors can make the specks of light disperse in a free and disordered manner, then watch as they gradually synchronise in hue and rhythm.

Aerial Climbing Through a Flock of Colored Birds

This artwork is inspired by birds that fly in a swooping dance of intricately coordinated patterns, known as a murmuration, without any apparent leader or way of communicating their planned movements.

Visitors can climb through this whimsical aerial structure consisting of colourful horizontal bars suspended in mid-air.

It might seem daunting, but don't let that stop you! It was fairly easy to navigate and a blast to experience. Every person's movement changes the sound and patterns of light and colour projected on the floor and wall, creating a dreamlike illusion of walking in the air. Flocks of birds also soar freely around the installation, changing in colour whenever they fly close to people.

Sketch Flight

This artwork explores the idea of flight by allowing visitors to see the world from the perspective of airplanes and living creatures in the sky. Visitors can colour airplanes, hawks and butterflies on papers provided, scan them and see their creations appear in the virtual world. In an added interactive feature, visitors are also able to control the movement of their creations using a tablet.

Tickets are priced at $25 (Adult),  $21 (Concession), $76 (Family) for Singapore residents and $28 (Adult), $23 (Concession), $84 (Family) for non-residents.
