In case you haven't heard the news, the once Disney-owned Pooh bear has been under the public domain since January this year. That means anyone is free to create their own adaptation of the character. A London-based indie film production company Jagged Edge Productions has already swooped in and produced, of all things, a horror film about Winnie-the-Pooh.

Titled Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood And Honey, the film has wrapped production and a few stills have been released.

The story is a horror retelling of author A. A. Milne's original work, where Pooh and Piglet go on a rampage after Christopher Robin abandons them.

According to the writer and director Rhys Frake-Waterfield, Pooh and Piglet have reverted to their animal instincts and become vicious creatures hunting prey.

The stills show a disturbingly familiar sight of Pooh with his iconic yellow body and overalls, but with a menacing twist.

Piglet, on the other hand, looks completely unrecognisable as he creeps up on a woman soaking in a hot tub.

Based on the images, we can guess that the plot will follow unsuspecting people who stumble across this demented version of Pooh and Piglet, and then run for their lives as the human-animal hybrid duo goes on a killing spree.

Fingers crossed it will be available to stream in Singapore!
