We’re always showing big love to the Sanrio OGs like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Little Twin Stars, but one noteworthy character many of us tend to overlook is Kuromi. Thanks to the rise of the Japanese yami kawaii fashion style which combines cutesiness with darker elements, Kuromi is now gaining increasing popularity among fans. Recognising this, Sanrio has released a series of new Kuromi phone wallpapers that you can save for free!

For the uninitiated: No, Kuromi isn’t “evil My Melody”, but she does also happen to be a rabbit. In fact, she’s My Melody’s rival, and despite her tough appearance, she’s still a girly girl and a romantic at heart.
