Demi Speaks Out After Her Drug Overdose!
The 25-year-old Mexican pop star received fame with shows like Sonny with a Chance, Camp Rock, and music hits like Sorry not Sorry, Skyscraper, and Confident.
A Youtube documentary was released in 2017 called 'Simply Complicated' wherein Lovato spoke about her journey of drinking, her eating disorder and substance abuse.
She was 17 when she first started using cocaine and at the age of 18 she went to the rehab where she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Her new song Sober which released in June was set around her drug relapse.
Demi posted a message to her fans weeks after she was admitted in a Los Angeles hospital for a drug overdose. The pop singer spoke out on Sunday about her journey with addiction and stated that she would be completely transparent about it.
Demi says "What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that fades over time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”

The music star also thanked God for keeping her alive and her fans for all the prayers, love and support during her difficult time. She also thanked her team, staff and family for being by her side throughout this hard time of being hospitalized, from July 24, at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Hollywood. Lovato added, "Without them, I wouldn’t be here writing this letter to all of you."
Demi's post was extremely heartwarming and it a very brave move from her end to come out with all the honesty about her addiction in front of the whole world. Her words were so powerful that she has inspired millions of people out there struggling with the same issue of addiction and self-confidence. For now, she deserves privacy and time to heal with the pain.
