Karan Johar's KWK 7 To Be Shelved Due To Backlash From Fans Post Sushant's Demise?
The very popular and one of the most controversial chat shows on Indian television is Koffee With Karan which is hosted by Director Karan Johar. The KWK season 6 was especially the most talked & controversial amongst all. And, ever since the sad news of Sushant Singh Rajput's demise broke, various fans have started sharing clips of Sonam Kapoor and Alia Bhatt from the show were they can be seen mentioning the late actor.
Koffee with Karan has never received such outrage from its audiences. More than the show itself, host Karan Johar along with a few other celebrities like Salman Khan, Ananya Panday, Alia Bhatt & Ekta Kapoor have been trolled on social media. After the success of season 6, the 7th season was fated but as per the recent reports, the upcoming season has been shelved.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, Karan's chat show could be shelved out forever. A source revealed to the portal "With the ongoing controversy around, the channel has decided to not shoot the seventh season anytime soon. They have expressed their concerns and are aware that the new season if begun, will face a lot of ire from the audience and on social media."
"While the Coronavirus outbreak has also played spoilsport, several leading actors have also decided to not shoot for the show, because they don't want to add more fuel to the fire. Now, Star has to take a call on whether they want to discontinue the show completely henceforth", the source added further.
However, Karan is yet to speak about it yet and there is no official statement from the makers of the show as well.
