Rape Joke & Sexism: The Trailer Of Kartik Aaryan's Pati Patni Aur Woh Makes Fun Of Some Serious Issues
In 2011, a frustrated boy made a place in our hearts with his monologue in Pyaar Ka Punchnama and cut to 2019, he has become one of the most sought-after actors of Bollywood. Yes, we are talking about Kartik Aaryan. With back-to-back hits and some good projects, he is indeed the new 'it' guy of the industry. Recently, the trailer of his upcoming film, Pati Patni Aur Woh was released and it is in the limelight for some obvious reasons.
In it, the actor can be seen doing things that he has already done. From his another monologue to dialogues demeaning woman, it seems like Kartik is playing safe when it comes to taking the risk with his roles. At this time, when his contemporaries are coming up with challenging parts, he has shown no versatility.
Moreover, the movie has some regressive dialogues. In it, Kartik's character says, "Biwi se sex maang le toh hum bhikhari, Biwi ko sex na de toh hum atyachaari Aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke usse sex nikal le toh hum balaatkaari."
Watch the trailer:
Seriously? Is it funny to joke on rape? In a country like India where there are no strict laws against marital rape, these dialogues just made fun of a serious issue.
Not only this, but the movie has also stereotyped women. In it, Kartik plays a husband to Bhumi and also gets attracted towards Ananya. The 'patni' is shown in sanskari avatar whereas 'woh' is seen in western outfits and 'pati' is stuck between two ladies.
The trailer has already raised eyebrows and it is yet to be seen what response this film gets. Pati Patni Aur Woh is all set to hit the screens on December 6.
