Last week a huge fire broke out on the sets of Sara Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan's Coolie No. 1. Though there were no injuries, it is now being reported that some of the light equipment along with a part of the set and some building material have been damaged in the unfortunate accident. The makers may have suffered a loss of a massive amount of Rs 2-2.5 crores.

The fire broke out at 1 am in the Filmistan Studio, situated in Goregaon when the crew was shooting for the film. The fire brigade reached the set on time but took almost three hours to out the fire. However, the good news is that the makers had insured the film and the losses will be covered under the assured 125 crore insurance.

The film is being produced by David Dhawan and Jackky Bhagnaniand is a remake of the 1995 Govinda film with the same title.  The original film was also a David Dhawan directorial. The remake of the movie will see Varun Dhawan in Govinda's role, while Sara Ali Khan will be playing the role of Karisma Kapoor from the original movie.

Apart from the lead actors, the movie also stars  Paresh Rawal, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav and Shikha Talsania. The film will hit the theatres on May 1st, 2020.

This is not the first time when Varun Dhawan will be collaborating with his father David Dhawan for a movie. Back in 2014, the father-son jodi produced Main Tera Hero and in 2017 they delivered a box-office hit Judwaa 2.

The remake Coolie no. 1 was also all over the news recently for going plastic-free on the sets. in a tweet shared by Varun, he thanked the film's entire cast & crew for the pursuit. They took the decision a few days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged people to avoid single-use of plastic and advised them to use more of cloth and jute bags.

Even though the insurance will cover the losses occurred, we hope the movie does great at the box office after its release and recovers much more than its loss.
