Dostana 2 Announced! Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor & A Mystery 'Suitable Boy' To Star In The Sequel
After the massive success of Dostana in the year 2008, Karan Johar is all set to entertain us with a sequel of the movie. The director & producer took it to his Instagram yesterday and shared a video about soon coming up with an exciting announcement about the film.
Today he finally revealed the details about the movie and guess whom do we have on board? It's none other than the charming Kartik Aaryan and fashion diva Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. However, he has left us hanging for some more information... The secret still remains about who is the third actor in the movie!
Dharma Production's Instagram handle recent announcement about the film has got us wondering who is the 'suitable boy' who will star opposite this power-packed duo.
Karan Johar, who will be producing the film, shared the video with the caption, "The return of the franchise with unlimited madness! @kartikaaryan, @janhvikapoor & a soon to be launched fresh face - making it the trio for #Dostana2, directed by @collindcunha. Watch out for the third suitable boy! ".
The first installment of the film, Dostana starring Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan was released in 2008. The story revolves around two men, portrayed by John and Abhishek, pretend to be gay in order to rent an apartment with Priyanka Chopra, who they later fall in love with.
While we are aware, Kartik and Janhvi will be playing the lead, the anticipation of the fresh face who will play the third wheel in the story has got us all hyped & excited to know more!
While speaking to a leading daily, Karan Johar said, "I am excited to take the Dostana franchise forward with Kartik and Janhvi, and can’t wait to create some desi boy-girl madness with them. This is Dharma Productions’ (his banner) first film with Kartik and we are looking forward to working with him. We will also be introducing a new male lead, who will join the incredible talent at our production house. Collin D’Cunha also makes his directorial debut with Dostana 2."
While Colin D'Cunha will be making his directorial debut with Dostana 2, he is not a new face in the industry. He has previously worked as an assistant director for popular films like PK, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Talaash.
Speaking of the lead characters, Kartik Aaryan is wrapping up the shoot for his upcoming film Love Aaj Kal 2 (unconfirmed title) opposite Sara Ali Khan. On the other hand, Janhvi Kapoor is currently shooting for the biopic titled Kargil Girl based on the Indian Air Force fighter pilot, Gunjan Saxena
