Kabir Singh, featuring actors Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani has released. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, it is the Hindi remake of Vijay Deverakonda starrer Arjun Reddy. As it was evident from the trailer, every scene has been copied from the original film. The story revolves around a surgeon who becomes an alcoholic and suffers from depression after his girlfriend gets married to someone else.

Talking about good things first, Shahid looks convincing as a drug-snorting, swearing and heartbroken doctor in love. There is no denying the fact that he is a wonderful actor who has always aced the role given to him. It won't be wrong to say that this movie belongs to him.

Kiara aka Preeti plays his love interest and has very less to do in the movie. She looks beautiful and compliments Shahid very well. Both the stars share amazing chemistry and songs are outstanding.

However, the film is misogynistic for reasons more than one. Have you watched Arjun Reddy? If yes, then you would know that it also had the same problematic scenes but things worked out for Vijay. However, Sandeep just took the audience for granted otherwise he would have thought that he won't get away with it for a second time. In the first scene itself, Kabir is seen hooking up with a soon-to-be-married woman. No, there's nothing wrong in it but the problem arises when the lady says no. Our protagonist grabs the knife and asks her to undress.

That's not it, Kabir also chases his maid when she accidentally breaks a glass. Interestingly, you will hear claps in many of these scenes and will question if this is right? The movie takes us to the flashback where Kabir falls in love at first sight with  Preeti. Without even speaking to her, he goes to his collegemates saying, "Woh meri bandi hai". When he met her for the first time, he kisses her on the cheek in front of the college and then says, "kisine nahi dekha". Well, what about her consent?

He even tells her who to be friends with. He says, "healthy chicks are like teddy bears, warm and cuddly." Just think once, if a man dominates you this way, will you ever fall in love with him? Obviously no, but as Kabir is a hero who is also genius, Preeti loves him.

Let's see how people on social media think about it:

It is a misogynistic film but if you think that Kabir is just a character and nothing real then you can give it a try for Shahid.
