On the work front, Parineeti Chopra's is quite indulged in the world of sports right now and her connection with it is not just limited to Sania Mirza, as she will soon be seen playing the role of Saina Nehwal, the 29-year-old, Badminton player.

Parineeti during an interview with a leading newspaper said that she is very excited to play the role of Saina, "It's a part of my personality, but as an actress, one that I have not explored so far. I'm delighted to get an opportunity to portray a strong and powerful girl like Saina who put our country on the world map. I am excited to put in all the training and hard work that comes with learning the game and portraying Saina on screen.

Initially Shraddha Kapoor was to play the role of Saina Nehwal in the film but unfortunately, she had to quit after months of training. A poster of the movie was shared before Parineeti was roped in, to replace the actress. Shraddha had to leave the project due to delayed shooting as she was diagnosed with dengue as well as her prior commitments on the Varun Dhawan and Nora Fatehi starrer, Street Dancer.
