In the era of light-hearted romantic comedies, the teen Bollywood romance movie of the '20s, Ishq Vishk is all set to make a comeback on the silver screen. The producer of the original film, Ramesh Taurani, confirmed that they are looking at a similar storyline, however, the actors for the movie are still not confirmed.

Ramesh during an interview for a leading newspaper said, "Yes, we are making a sequel to Ishq Vishk. The story is in the scripting stage and could be about a teenage romance. Hopefully, in the next two-three months, we will lock the script and start looking for the director and cast."

The original movie was released in the year 2003, which saw the debut of actors Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao in the leading roles. The movie turned out to be a huge blockbuster and was their first step for getting the big break in the industry. Before that, Shahid was spotted in a music video of Aankhon Mein by Aryans and Amrita Rao was seen in a coffee advertisement.

The producer recalls and added," He was very young then, so I asked him to wait for two-three more years before I could launch him. When Ken Ghosh (director of Ishq Vishk) narrated the final story the movie to me, I told him that I had a hero who fits the part and introduced him to Shahid.

Another actress, that was praised for her work in the film was Shehnaz Treasurywala, who later became an actress, a VJ and now stars in various television shows and Hollywood movies.

Ishq Vishk followed the same theme of the typical Bollywood romantic movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which can now be compared to the storyline of Student Of The Year, the typical high school/college love triangle that ends up with drama, heartbreaks and finally a happy ending.

This film was one of the best memories of our childhood. Binge watching romantic movies, was a thing back then and like it is said, history repeats itself and we are back again at the same theme of cinema.

Although there might be a change of plot and the characters would not be playing the college students again, we are very excited to find out who will be seen in the young and peppy characters. Ishaan Khattar stepping into his brother's role opposite Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan playing the role of Shehnaz?

What do you think?

We hope to find out who will be playing the iconic role of this trio!
