New Store In Singapore Has All Things Taro From Tart Balls To Basque Burnt Cheesecake
You are in luck if you are a fan of all things taro, aka orh nee! That's because popular home-based bakery, Whisking Bakes, is opening their brick-and-mortar store in Singapore and they are known for being the pioneers in baking taro tart balls.
The Whisking Bakes store starts operations on 7 August 2021 and there will be a few promotions to celebrate the opening.

Whisking Bakes is the brainchild of Chanel Li, an ex-air stewardess who decided to kickstart her home-based business in 2020 when she had to make a sudden career switch due to the pandemic.

Chanel first started out with selling Orh Nee Tarts ($14 for 11 small pieces & $30 for 25 medium pieces). This unique, savoury and sweet dessert managed to win the hearts as well as tastebuds of her followers, so it's safe to say the tarts are definitely the star of the brand!

Buttery, melt-in-your-mouth pastry paired with the creamy yet light-tasting taro filling makes this the perfect snack combination.
Apart from Orh Nee Tarts, Chanel also sells other desserts in, you guessed it, taro flavour.

Aptly named Tarolls ($13 for a pack of 12), these orh nee popiahs are wrapped with a generous portion of taro and come frozen. All you have to do is pop them into your air fryer or oven to enjoy this crispy treat.

Get the Taro Burnt Cheesecake ($7.20 per slice) in-stores too. This will probably taste like heaven for those who love both cheese and taro!

Non-taro lovers can also get their hands on the Levain NYC Cookies ($5 each) that are chunky and chewy in texture. Flavours include Nutella Choc, Matcha White Choc, Red Velvet, Double Choc Sea Salt and Biscoff.
