If you think there can't possibly be anymore new cafes in Singapore, think again. There was the hidden alfresco greenhouse-style cafe, the Korean drama-inspired dessert cafe and now, you can add this new cafe that is perfect for a lazy afternoon brunch to your cafe-hopping list!
The Brewing Ground is an industrial chic cafe amidst lush greenery located at Joo Chiat Place and its unassuming exterior hides a modern and comfortable ambience.
Fun fact: According to The Brewing Ground, the majestic tree situated right beside the cafe is a Kapok tree - one of the last remaining heritage trees of its kind!
The floor to ceiling glass windows together with the greenery surrounding the cafe and in the cafe itself give off greenhouse vibes.
The cafe takes on a no-frills interior design with no bright colours or extravagant backdrops but its simple decor with accent furniture makes it charming nonetheless.
The Brewing Ground is rather spacious, with plenty of seats both outdoors and indoors so you won't have to worry about queuing for hours just to have a meal.
While most of the cafe is kept to the black and white theme, there is also plenty of wood and plants to make the space cosy. It's a great place to head to for a relaxing afternoon with your favourite people while enjoying scrumptious breakfast or brunch.
Make sure you order their coffee which comes with beautiful latte art! Apart from coffee, tea and juices, they also serve alcoholic beverages like draft beers, cocktails and wine.
Prices for beverages range from $2 to $9 for non-alcoholic and $12 to $220 for alcoholic ones.
The Brewing Ground opens early at 8.30am and serves all-day breakfast till 4pm. Try the Burrata & Tomatoes Tartine ($18) using sourdough all the way from France. It comes with caramelised onions, marinated cherry tomatoes, almond flakes and balsamic glaze.
Other options on the breakfast menu include Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($12) and Avocado & Ricotta Tartine ($17).
Brunch starts from 11am to 4pm and their Breakfast Burger ($19) is a must-try! It comes with a pork sausage patty, scrambled eggs, caramelised onions and cheddar resting between brioche buns.
