There’s no need to travel to Common Ground in Seoul or wait for container market Artbox to return to Singapore. MOD Cafe is a permanent container cafe along East Coast, and it's washed in a pretty pale pink shade that’s complemented by the calming green of potted plants and trees in the vicinity.

The exterior of the cafe is a prime photo spot, with a white curlicue bench and garden swing for you to perch on and werk those poses.

The interior, on the other hand, is mostly minimalist with plain white walls, save for a hand-painted floral mural as feature piece behind the bar counter.

As the cafe space is small and cosy with limited seats, it’s best you drop by during non-peak periods lest you get stuck outside waiting in a queue. But hey, that just justifies a barrage of OOTD spam - what else could one spend their time on while waiting at such a photogenic establishment?

The seats are a hodgepodge of low chairs, stools and a plush sofa. Try to snag a spot at the bar counter that faces the outside for the optimum view for people-watching and nature appreciation.

On the menu are brunch dishes like All-Day Breakfast Sets ($15.90) consisting of toast or waffles, your choice of eggs, mushroom, spinach, and salad - with an accompaniment of latte, flat white, long black or mocha.

Other breakfast items include the Earl Grey Waffle ($8.90) served with maple syrup and fresh strawberries and bananas, Waffle & Gelato ($12.90), and affordable Fresh Baked Homemade Muffins ($1.90).

For something less common, try the Green Tea Soba with Mushroom ($12.90) - topped with portobello mushroom, an onsen egg and truffle oil.

As for desserts, you can look forward to confections from Beverly Hills Cheesecake (from $7.90), among other small bites.

Don’t forget the drinks! Other than the standard Long Black and Hot Tea ($4.90 each), there’s also Ice Lemon Honey Mint Tea ($6.90) and Icy Nyonya Coffee ($8.90) which comes with gula melaka and chendol ice-cream.

Craving for alcohol? Don’t miss their Drunken Dinosaur ($16.90), a concoction of ice chocolate with Milo powder, Bailey’s and gelato - think of it as a chocolatey version of Milo Dinosaur, with an added kick! Wine starts from $14 per glass.
