Celebrities Express Concern & Donate To Help With Australia's Bushfires

Dozens of fires have been erupting in New South Wales, Australia since last November and roughly 25.5 million acres have been burned.

Thousands of homes have been destroyed and the crisis has taken an enormous toll on the wildlife in Australia too. A professor estimated that a billion animals had died in Australia's wildfires! ?

As celebrities have a huge following and the ability to influence people, many of them, both from Australia and countries around the world, have come forward to express their concern and donate to help with the fight against the fires.

Leonardo DiCaprio's environmental organisation, Earth Alliance, will donate $3 million to wildfire relief efforts to assist with critical firefighting efforts, aid local communities most affected by the wildfires, enable wildlife rescue and recovery, and support the long term restoration of unique ecosystems.

Jay Park has donated $30,000 to the NSW Rural Fire Service. In his tweet, he told fans to "pray for Australia" and hoped that his donation "helps somewhat".

BLACKPINK's Rosé grew up in Melbourne, Australia and has expressed concern over the raging bushfires. In her Instagram post, she revealed that she is "heartbroken for the people and homes suffering from the fires and the millions of innocent and beautiful wildlife creatures that are injured and dying right now".

She also stated that she will try her best to support and urged her fans to visit the links she included to see how they can help.

Stray Kids' leader, Bang Chan, posted on Instagram and revealed that he and Felix (fellow Australian group member) are "having a hard time being aware that Australia is under fatal circumstances".

He also thanked his "friends, families and STAYs (fans) that are doing whatever they can to help out".

Half a billion animals GONE. Ellen DeGeneres tweeted that she has donated to three organisations. She has also set up a GoFundMe page to raise $5 million and $1.6 million have been raised thus far.

With so many devastating fires within Australia, my heart breaks for the people and wildlife who have lost so much. I wanted to let you know that we are SAFE. There are no fires near us @AustraliaZoo or our conservation properties. Our Wildlife Hospital is busier than ever though, having officially treated over 90,000 patients. My parents dedicated our Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital to my beautiful grandmother. We will continue to honour her by being Wildlife Warriors and saving as many lives as we can. ???
