You can always curl your hair at home by yourself easily without using a hair curler or any heat!

Read on to find out how!

#1 Bun up your hair

After washing your hair, towel dry and air it till it's about 70% dry. Then, gather all your hair and tie a high, messy bun.

The trick to achieving big curls that look natural is to make your bun as messy as possible but make sure it's secure too. Leave it for a few hours or overnight (if you don't mind the discomfort) and untie the next day.

You should achieve curls that are slightly messier than when you use a hair curler but it will also look more natural and less defined compared to curls achieved from using a hair curler.

The curls will also probably point in many different directions because of the messy bun but simply run your hands through your hair and style it according to how you want it to look.

#2 Braid your hair

This is another super easy and fuss-free way to curl your hair. Simply section your hair and braid it normally.

If you want looser curls, gather all of your hair or section into two portions to braid.

If you want smaller and more defined curls for a cuter look, separate your hair into four or more sections and braid them.

The look of your curls will depend on how tight you braid your hair and how long you leave the braids on. Remember to pull your hair into a tight braid if you wish to achieve small and defined curls.

#3 Twist your hair

When your hair is 70% dry, take small sections and twist them around your finger. Then, roll the twisted hair up and secure them with bobby pins to the top of your head. Remember to place the textured side of the bobby pins facing down as this gives it a stronger grip on your hair.

Using such a technique will give you the most defined curls compared to the other two.

Don't be alarmed when you remove the bobby pins and find your hair extremely curly. Loosen the curls by running your hands through your hair. Make sure you adjust the tightness when twisting your hair according to how you want your curls to turn out - tighter twists for curlier hair and looser twists for bigger curls.

Although these techniques are relatively easier compared to using a hair curler and will prevent long term damage to your hair, it will still take some trial and errors to before you achieve the look you are going for. So, don't give up and just keep trying if you want pretty curly hair!
