Jeremy Chan Wins First Award After Slogging For 12 Years In Showbiz
Can you believe this is his first award?
Be it acting, hosting or supporting his wife Jesseca Liu, Jeremy Chan has done it all. Following his Project SuperStar days, Jeremy Chan made his acting debut in Channel 8's Table of Glory and has taken up role after roles. Though he did not find much success in the past 12 years, he proved to us that as long as we work hard, we will definitely get to where we want to be.
During the recent Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA) held on 6 and 7 Dec, 37-year-old Jeremy nabbed his first ever award.
The actor-host walked away with Best Comedy Performance for his role in the Toggle Originals series My Agent Is A Hero, where he acted as a gangster-turned-property agent; beating other prominent regional actors like Thai heartthrob Mario Maurer and Filipino comedian Michael V.
Delivering his very first acceptance speech on the grand stage, Jeremy thanked Toggle, his wife Jesseca Liu and last but not least, Mark Lee, his boss and mentor Mark Lee.
"Many years ago when I was just starting out, I told Mark that I will keep working hard until the day I win an award so I can thank him on stage. It took a long time for me to fulfil my promise, but I finally did it!"
Though 12 years is a long time, we are glad that his hard work paid off. Don't we girls all love a man celebrity who works hard? Let's give him our best wishes!
