Craving for something different from your usual dessert order? Well, next time you're in the mood for a hearty scoop of ice cream, check out BOMUL Gelato Bar at CHIJMES. Located outside the BOMUL Samgyetang restaurant — known for the largest range of samgyetang in Singapore — this newly opened section serves up freshly churned gelato in truly unique flavours inspired by Korean-hanbang (traditional medicine) taste profiles.

That may sound a little scary, but a lot of these flavours actually taste smooth, balanced and pretty yummy (not just weird, like a lot of 'unusual' flavours out there)! These include Ginseng, Black Sesame, Mulberry and Bay Leaf, and Chrysanthemum & Goji Berry.

Those with less adventurous tastes can also opt for a cup of Roasted Bronte Pistachio, or the limited-time flavour, Dubai Double Black Chocolate!

Personally, I found the Dubai Double Black Chocolate flavour, which comes topped with a generous amount of pistachio kunafa, the tastiest (we finished nearly two cups of this)!

But for anyone who appreciates a creamy and smooth gelato, the Black Sesame and Chrysanthemum & Goji Berry flavours are definitely great picks. Plus, with the weather growing increasingly hot and humid, the sorbet-like Mulberry and Bay Leaf is also a refreshing choice.

While diners are free to grab a table at the outdoor seating space located right in front of BOMUL Gelato Bar, these gelatos come in a paper cup, making them easy to carry with you as you shop or take a stroll around the CHIJMES area.
