Should K-POP Stars Be Fired Because They Made Their Relationship Public
On Thursday, K-pop stars Hyuna(Kim Hyun-ah) and E'Dawn(Kim Hyo-jong) were fired from their jobs by Cube Entertainment after making their relationship public. This decision has been a hot topic as pressure from fans on social media and falling stock prices have forced the music label to think twice about this decision.

For non k-pop fans, you might recognise Hyuna from her role in Psy's famous youtube video, Gangnam style, where Hyuna appeared dancing at an underground train station.

E'dawn is part of a K-pop boy band Pentagon. He's known as the rapper of the boy band with blonde hair and now, a super hot girlfriend.

The agency said on 13 September, "Cube Entertainment has decided to remove HyunA and E'Dawn (from the company). Later on, Cube entertainment explained their decision that the duo was sacked based on 'impossibility to recover the trust lost by keeping their relationship secret.'
(Wait, what in the world logic reason is that..?)

For those who are not familiar with the practices in the Korean Entertainment industry, artists have to keep their relationship low key, discreet or even promise to stay single as part of their contract agreement.
And the impact...
#HyunA has been trending worldwide ever since the public announcement days ago and her fans and his fans are boycotting and condemning Cube Entertainment's decision. Shortly, their stock price suffered a 6.57 per cent drop. This is a big enough reason to stop the CEO and its PR team in its track to quickly retract their statement and said, "We've yet to make an official decision on the rumour that HyunA and E'Dawn would be ousted"
Will this couple be strong enough to change the industry practice?
Some of their more than 10 million fans took to Twitter to express their love and concerns.
Hyuna is a huge k-pop star. She first announced this happy (or disastrous news) on her twitter because she wanted to be honest with her fans.
View this post on Instagram
Which translates into "I really wanted to be honest. As always for the fans who always cheer and watch, I am happy to be there on stage. Thank you and there is no way to express more."
We still hope for a positive outcome for this couple. We know for sure, their fans are supportive of their love!
How did their love story start?
Hyuna and E'Dawn first met while he was a trainee and they began their relationship back in May 2016. It has been 2 years of quiet dating before the official announcement.
Hyuna said that their relationship blossomed while they make music together. They share a good chemistry. She appreciated the fact that E'Dawn helped her out with her album even though he was not credited.

At the end, we can only wait to see what really happens. We say, Congratulations to Hyuna and E'Dawn and may their love conquer all odds! (And maybe even put an end to the controversial media practices in the k-pop world.)
