Previously, the band teased their return on YouTube and invited hundreds of fans to a reveal concert, which they also livestreamed. At the event, Linkin Park introduced their new members: Emily Armstrong from rock band Dead Sara, who takes over as lead vocalist, and Colin Brittain, who steps in on drums, replacing Rob Bourdon. They're joining original members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Joe Hahn, and Phoenix, who founded the band in Agoura Hills in 1996.
With their return, Linkin Park is set to release a new album From Zero on 15 November 2024, marking their first record since 2017’s One More Light, the last album featuring Chester. The lead single, The Emptiness Machine, is already out.

Mike shared his thoughts on the album, saying,“Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future — embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”

He added, "Working with Emily and Colin has been incredible. We’ve really enjoyed their amazing skills and the creative process. This new lineup has given us a fresh energy, and we’re blending our classic sound with exciting new elements."
