Afternoon tea should be fun, and it's always nice to have aesthetically pleasing treats with unexpected twists of flavours. But if you're in the mood for a traditional afternoon tea with familiar European flavours, Goodwood Park Hotel's L'Espresso is the place to be. It's current offering is an exquisite Afternoon Tea Buffet with English Classics and European Delights.

Begin with comforting Hot Delights, a line-up of classic dishes from around Europe like Spanish Style Chicken Drumettes, French-inspired Seafood Croquettes with Remoulade, and Grilled Bratwurst Sausage with Sauerkraut, a staple in Germany. Of course, there will also be English bites like German Chicken Shepherd's Pie and Golden Crispy Battered Fish Fillet.

A standout is the tender Herb-Roasted Beef Tenderloin paired with perfectly crisp and flaky Croffles at the Carving Station.

The dessert section will also take your taste buds around Europe. There's a huge spread of beautiful little treats including Tarta De Manzana (apple pie), German Donauwellen (marble cake), and French Coffee Éclairs, Madeleines, Pralines, and Strawberry Mousse Cakes.

Each seating will have exclusive Chef's Specials on rotation, which will only be available for a certain duration. A bell will ring about an hour after the buffet starts, indicating that the specials are now on display and ready for diners to grab.

You can expect both savouries and sweets in this limited edition spread. During our seating, we were treated to light and crispy Cheesy Potato Churros that was creamy and salty on the inside, and an uber decadent Chocolate Lava Cake. Both were a delight, so we're guessing the other specials - Wagyu Beef Slider with Foie Gras & Purple Coleslaw, Pork Knacker in Mini Roll, Peppermint & Strawberry Lollipop and more - will be just as promising.

Scones can, arguably, make or break an afternoon tea experience, and we're happy to report that L'Espresso's scones were one of the highlights. First, there's an impressive variety of flavours at the Scone Bar, which presents an assortment of scones and condiments on a tiered stand.

Along with classics like Plain and Raisin, there are four all-new scone flavours: Coffee, Apricot, Pistachio and Maple Pecan.

All four flavours were absolutely delicious, but if you can't handle that much carbs, we suggest prioritising some tummy space for the Pistachio and Apricot scones.
