It's strawberry season in Japan, and you know what that means: freshly harvested and imported Japanese strawberries we can savour in Singapore! Conrad Centennial Singapore has made the most of this peak harvest season by using these strawberries to create delicate and pretty little bites as part of the limited-time Strawberry Afternoon Tea.

Running from now till 31 March 2024, this returning afternoon tea is made using Amaou Strawberries air-flown from Fukuoka, Japan, which are meticulously farmed under stringent guidelines to preserve their flavour and appearance.

While previous editions had more sweets than savouries, this year's has an even ratio so it makes for a substantial meal that'll satisfy your sweet tooth without feeling too jelak.

Besides the sweets and savouries, the set also comes with two whole Amaou Strawberries with Valrhona Chocolate Dip. We can see why these massive strawberries are so coveted. They had a beautiful deep red hue and delicious sweetness and tanginess - great on their own and even better with the rich and decadent chocolate.

Of course, there's the quintessential afternoon tea staple, Raisin Scones and Clotted Cream, along with seasonal Strawberry Scones with subtle fruitiness as well as Homemade Wild Strawberry Jam.

Savouries include two mini open-faced sandwiches. Fresh Strawberry Balsamic Bruschetta had smoky duck slices with a refreshing citrus cream cheese, while Whipped Brie had a tangy medley of balsamic strawberry, kiwi and fruit chutney.

The highlight from the savouries was the Salmon Rillette, a pretty pink sandwich filled with flavour-packed salmon enhanced by the briny burst from sustainable caviar and sweetness from strawberry.

On the sweets front, there was the smooth and light Strawberry Meringata with meringues and strawberries in double vanilla cream, and delightful Strawberry Shortcake, a classic done right.

Finally are two desserts that were too pretty to eat! The Tahitian Vanilla Whip, Strawberry Compote had a luscious mix of strawberry marmalade and vanilla ganache on a buttery base.

Saving the most aesthetic morsel for last, Strawberry Mint had compote with mint and strawberry notes encased in vanilla whip shaped like the champion fruit itself. It sat on an almond sable biscuit and was topped with chocolate "stem & leafy greens."

The Strawberry Afternoon Tea will be served at Lobby Lounge daily till 31 March 2024 in two seating: 1 to 3pm and 3.30 to 5.30pm. It is priced at $50++ per person on weekdays and $52++ per person on weekends, and is inclusive of a two-hour free flow of tea and coffee, with an option to include two hours of unlimited Prosecco at $28++.
