Stretchy, pillowy, sweet, and chewy — yes, we're talking about the delicious summer dessert, warabimochi. If you've got an insatiable sweet tooth like us, pop by Warabimochi Kamakura's first-ever store in Singapore when it opens on 3 February 2024 for some freshly-made treats!
The popular Japanese dessert chain is known for its mildly sweet warabimochi, as well as an array of innovative drinks that come with chewy warabimochi bits. Think bubble tea, but with mochi instead of tapioca pearls!

While you won't be able to find seats inside this takeout kiosk-style store, the well-lit interiors (designed with traditional Japanese aesthetics in mind) are still perfect for customers to snap pictures featuring the highly Instagrammable desserts and drinks. There are also a few well-placed and sheltered benches in the surrounding area for those who want to take their time to enjoy their snacks.

Savour the taste of traditional warabimochi, a light and silky dessert made fresh daily with bracken starch and topped with kinako powder, by grabbing a 2-Piece Cup ($3.90). Each piece of mochi is generously large and fluffy, tasting rich and flavourful. You can also opt to have your 2-Piece Cup with Ice Cream ($5.90) for a little extra creaminess.

Customers can also have the warabimochi to go, in convenient boxes of 5 pieces ($7.90) and 10 pieces ($14.90). Those ordering the 10-piece box can even select a special box made from Paulownia wood ($17.90 for 10 pieces) to make them look extra presentable as a special gift.

Fans of strawberries can choose between the Strawberry Milk or Strawberry Yoghurt ($7.90/$9.90), which comes in two sizes. Not only will you find deliciously juicy warabimochi bits in these cups, but also pieces of fresh strawberry pulp.
The Askawa-en Matcha ($5.90/$7.90) is great for those who want a subtle hint of matcha in their drink — nothing too overpowering, so you can still easily appreciate the delicious taste of the warabimochi.
