If you worship at the altar of productivity, chances are that you may have had to skip a meal or two. After all, you’re probably constantly ticking items off an endless to-do list or rushing from one meeting to the next. Sometimes, forgoing lunch or dinner is a conscious decision that you make to save time; in other instances, eating just slips your mind completely because you’re riding a wave of productivity.

And so, to all you busy bees out there who would like to start taking better care of yourselves, might I suggest a drink that effectively serves as a meal? It sure beats working on an empty stomach and all you need is access to warm water.

Recently, the GirlStyle team had the opportunity to try Kinohimitsu’s WellSure. While I’m admittedly not super well-versed when it comes to food and nutrition, I could rest easy knowing that this drink contains a chock-full of vitamins and minerals28 of them, to be exact. In fact, WellSure is a blend of four types of plant-based protein that is rich in omega 3, 6, and 9, which is particularly beneficial for cardiovascular health

It also comes with prebiotics, probiotics, and Lutein (an antioxidant that improves your eye function). Plus, you can be assured that there are no preservatives, artificial colouring, flavouring, chemicals, or hormones.

I’m always cognisant of mealtimes and only skip dinner when I’m all out of options. This happens when I exercise on weekday evenings. Since I can only head for a run or a dance class after work, I start my workout at around 7pm, which ends around 8pm to 9pm. If I am alone in town, I wouldn’t want to eat out — it’s too expensive! So I would typically make my way home right after the workout.

On nights like these, WellSure comes in really handy because I don’t have to negate my efforts at being healthy by turning to microwaveable meals or fast food. I typically don’t have a large appetite after exercising and so, one serving of WellSure is just enough for me. This way, I don’t have to eat a heavy meal, which will inevitably delay my bedtime. It tastes like oatmeal — without the oats or milk, of course — and makes for a pleasant nighttime drink.

If you’re lactose intolerant or privy to digestive problems like me, you’ll be glad to know that WellSure is dairy-free, gluten-free, and balances gut microbiota. Additionally, it also supports immune function, which is reassuring given that we are in the midst of flu season!

I was interested in trying WellSure as I wanted to see if it would curb my appetite for snacks. So far, drinking it during teatime has allowed me to fight my cravings. As someone who exercises regularly, I was pleased to find out that it contains CaHMB, a supplement that helps to improve muscle strength and build lean body mass. Since one serving of the drink contains 10g of protein, it contributes to my daily protein intake.

As WellSure is 100% natural and does not come with any added sugar, it tastes quite mellow and is not sweet. I would suggest avoiding room-temperature water as the powder may turn a bit clumpy. But at the right temperature, the consistency of the drink is quite smooth.
