This New Rooftop Bar In Singapore Offers The Trendy Floating Pool Dining Experience
Remember when floating breakfasts were all over Instagram? Celebrities and influencers ate up these movable meals, which almost became a basic amenity in luxury resorts in Bali, the Maldives and Thailand. The spread is usually beautifully plated for the 'gram and served on a large tray that's left to free-float on the surface of a swimming pool.
If you've always wanted to know what all the fuss is about, here's your chance: Momentus Hotel Alexandra has just unveiled Verandah Pool Bar & Grill, a rooftop bar offering a floating dining experience you can enjoy right here in Singapore.

Perched on level 7 of the hotel, the rooftop bar rests at the edge of the infinity pool, with a narrow pathway leading to a stylish, greenery-filled sanctuary with a circular bar counter.

While the glasshouse-like structure shows off the scenic view, it also lets in the sunlight and heat. Thankfully, it seems like the designers have thought this through as the space is blasted with fans creating a cooling breeze. Still, we'd recommend visiting after 6pm!

Diners can lounge in the chairs or the bar seats and enjoy the view over bar bites, grilled dishes and specialty cocktails, wines, beers, or mocktails.

The Verandah Sundown Pool Dining Experience
While the bar offers a lovely experience, their pool dining will be getting all the attention. The Verandah Sundown ($98++ for 2 adults) is a floating feast of bar bites and alcoholic beverages. And rather than a floating breakfast, which would make us blister in the Singapore heat, it comes as a dinner rendition served from 4 to 10pm daily.
Weather aside, the more skeptical of us would still have this burning question: wouldn't the pool water splash onto the food? Fortunately, this is unlikely to happen as the dining will take place in the Reflection Pool that has shallow waters and is separate from the main pool where the aforementioned splashing would occur.

And after taking the perfect photo, you can start the actual dining experience with six bar bites and four drinks. It'll be wise to start with the seafood - Fresh Oysters, Crabmeat Remoulade and Sweet Shrimp - that was left out while you were taking pictures, before moving on the the hot savouries like Dirty Steak with lyonnaise potato and Mini Hot Wings with vegetable crudites and ranch dip. There are also Mini Sliders with beef and pulled pork making this floating meal a filling dinner.

It comes with four drinks including two cocktails and two sparkling or house wines.
Each reservation slot is limited to 2 hours, which is plenty of time to have a proper photoshoot and enjoy the food and drinks at a leisurely pace.
