Kourtney Kardashian Broke Her $1M Engagement Ring From Now-Husband Travis Barker, Cried Hysterically
Is rich people breaking their diamond rings a thing? Apparently so. Shortly after Singaporean billionaire heiress Kim Lim broke her double-diamond wedding ring from second husband Leslie Leow, Kourtney Kardashian also found herself in a similar predicament, having broken her $1million engagement ring from now-husband Travis Barker, drummer of Blink-182.

43-year-old Kourtney Kardashian was previously on-and-off with Scott Disick before they called it quits for good in 2015. The eldest Kardashian-Jenner sibling has since found love again with 46-year-old Travis Barker, her neighbour and close friend of many years.

After about a year of dating, the two got engaged on 16 October 2021, where Travis popped the question during sunset at a beach in California with an elaborate set-up of candles and hundreds of red roses.

The one ring to rule her heart? A bespoke Lorraine Schwartz piece with an oval-shaped diamond, which Travis worked closely with the designer to create - and which allegedly cost him a million dollars.

As of 15 May 2022, Kourtney and Travis are officially married, having tied the knot in a legal courthouse solemnisation surrounded by just a small handful of their closest family and friends - including Travis’ father and Kourtney’s grandmother. Previously, they had a non-official Las Vegas ceremony with an Elvis Presley impersonator as the “solemniser”, for which there was no marriage license.
This official wedding solemnisation was held in Santa Barbara, the same city in which the pair got engaged. Kourtney donned a short and sultry Dolce & Gabbana bodycon dress in white, while Travis showed up looking sharp in black on black.

This is Kourtney’s first marriage, and Travis’ third. Kourtney shares three children with Scott. Travis was previously married to model Shanna Moakler, whom he shares two children with, and before that, he was married to a Melissa Kennedy for just a year.

Now, let’s backtrack a little to talk about the lavish engagement ring.
Apparently, more expensive doesn’t equate to better quality, because Kourtney managed to break her engagement ring in the most unexpected way - by stepping on it while doing house chores.

“I was sitting on my floor folding sweatshirts. I took the ring off and I put it next to me on the floor, like, thinking it would be safe right next to me. I had to get something up above in my closet, and when I stepped down, I stepped on the ring."
According to Kourtney, damaging the ring sent her into a nervous breakdown, and she was sitting on the floor crying hysterically for hours. *Cue the infamous meme of Kourtney’s sister Kim crying over her diamond earrings that fell into the ocean, ‘cause, same energy*

Thankfully, Travis took it like a champ, and wasn’t at all mad. The ring has since been sent for repair.
In the meantime, you can look forward to news of the couple’s upcoming third wedding party, which will apparently be held in Italy at a later date.
