DietSabya : Fashion Police On Instagram You Need To Follow
DietSabya is the Insta handle of the moment which has everyone from Karan Johar to Sonam Kapoor obsessed with. Inspired from DietPrada, the anonymous user(s) blatantly call out the plagiarism in the fashion industry with their sassy commentary and accompanying hashtags like #gandi and #copy.
The fun thing about this account is that they do not shy away from putting up pictures of A-list celebrities in the copied designs and tag their respective stylists for not being good fact-checkers.
With over 80K followers, they have managed to call out high-profile designers like Falguni And Shane Peacock, Manish Malhotra and Swapnil Shinde for their “inspired” designs.

And just recently, they even got the stamp of approval from their partial namesake Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The renowned designer has been quite vocal about the copying culture in fashion industry and has over 700 designs copyrighted. He was delighted with the work DietSabya is doing and considers his name being used as a homage.
Plagiarism has always been a big issue in the fashion world and a lot of designers have complained about the laws not being good enough. In fact, many of you must have seen this scenario play out in places like Karol Bagh or Connaught Place where the random saree shop is selling “original copies” of couture designers.
Accounts like DietSabya certainly help the situation a lot more as designers and stylists would be more careful, even if it's just out of shame, before making a creative decision!
