Teej is considered as one of the most important festivals for Hindu women. This is known to all that married women observe nirjala fast on this day for the long lives of their husbands. Devotees believe that this is day when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati united. Along with wearing new clothes, worshiping Lord Shiva and Parvati, ladies also apply mehendi on their hands. Due to coronavirus, the work of mehendi artists was affected as this was their prime source of income. However, taking precautions has become a new normal now. Life is slowly getting back on track.

So, if you are stepping out, keep these things in your mind before getting your mehendi done:

  1. Make sure that your mehendi wala is wearing mask and properly sanitizing hands.
  2. Maintain social distancing while waiting for your turn.
  3. Take your sanitizer with you.  After a customer is done with her mehendi, sanitize her seat before sitting there for your mehendi done.
  4. Avoid going to the areas that are at high risk of COVID-19.

Well, we have to learn to live with corona. However, that doesn't mean you have to avoid important rituals. Just take precautions and be safe.
